During this first week of the year I am preparing a series best described as Form over Function for the Designer Craftsmen exhibition at the Mall Galleries. Following the work of John Goodheart, I add found objects to ceramic pieces to suggest familiar forms of domestic objects. At what point do we see such a piece and see it as a teapot or a storage jar, when in fact it is functionally neither?
